Acrylic and mixed media on cradled deep edge board

This vibrant abstract landscape is inspired by my time exploring the Dublin Mountains. I took photographs and made quick sketches on location, then brought those impressions back to the studio. Rather than painting exactly what I saw, I focused on how it felt—translating the energy and atmosphere of the place into layers of colour and expressive mark making.

I challenged myself to explore a warmer, more unexpected palette for this piece, allowing instinct and emotion to guide the process. The painting is created on a cradled wooden panel, which means it’s ready to hang as is—no frame needed. I love the way it seems to float slightly off the wall, giving it a quiet presence in any space.
