As a non-artist, I was surprised at how far out of my comfort zone I felt, and yet how completely comfortable I was. I discovered that the 16-year-old in me who loved design is still very much alive, and that it doesn’t matter at all that I can’t draw real-life objects! The retreat was a wonderful way to switch off from my work in operations, using a different part of my brain in the workshops, surrounded by amazing, warm, and generous people. Exploring the area and learning about the region and its people was a real highlight, inspiring my creative practice and helping me connect with everyone. The Riad was beautiful and relaxing, with everything we needed, and the staff were incredible, always helpful, professional, and full of good humour. The food, both at the Riad and local restaurants, was consistently lovely, and I absolutely loved the Tiznit markets. From the jewellery souks to the local food markets in the medina and new city, they offered a fascinating glimpse into daily life and a rich showcase of Moroccan culture.

The week was perfectly balanced, so much packed in, yet with a calm, fluid rhythm that never left me feeling rushed or exhausted. I discovered how nourishing it is to spend time with like-minded people; it truly feeds the soul. Waking up each morning to blue skies and birdsong, followed by breakfasts that were sheer bliss, set the tone for each day. The Riad was an absolute pleasure, an oasis of calm and beauty within walking distance of the souks and market squares. The owners and staff were a joy, and the food, made with fresh, perfectly cooked produce, was unforgettable. I loved exploring the markets, a feast for all five senses, from vibrant spices and herbs to colourful fruits and vegetables. I can wholeheartedly recommend this trip, five stars without hesitation!

The Morocco art retreat with Fran and Deirdre was one of the most inspiring and meaningful experiences I’ve ever had. From the beautiful Riad Janoub and incredible food to the warm hospitality and immersive local experiences, everything was thoughtfully taken care of. The creative workshops were playful, freeing and deeply inspiring, helping us reconnect with our inner child in a supportive, joyful group. It was about so much more than making art, connection, laughter, reflection and unforgettable moments, especially the sunset closing ceremony on the beach. I came home feeling renewed, inspired and truly grateful.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed painting and creating, having grown up around art, I’d never made space for it in my own life, but that will change after this trip! I found a sense of inner calm that has stayed with me since returning, and I’m loving it. I would wholeheartedly recommend this retreat to anyone with a creative side, you don’t need to be an artist, just willing to play, have fun, and give it a go. The group I was with made it unforgettable; they were all beautiful souls, open, honest, and fun to be around (the word “spoons” still makes me laugh!). The Riad was a hidden gem, with a wonderful staff who went above and beyond, even hosting a traditional Moroccan night with food, henna, music, and tea ceremonies. The food was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and accommodating of everyone’s needs, I’ve been trying their recipes at home ever since. Tiznit itself left a lasting mark. A traditional, unspoiled Moroccan town with markets that could take days to explore, and kind, gentle people who made us feel safe and welcome. It was a wonderful reminder of a simpler, more mindful way of life, I’d love to go back.

I absolutely loved the art retreat in Morocco, even though I'm not an artist. What made it truly unforgettable wasn't just the creativity, but the deep sense of sisterhood that formed among the women there. There was so much sharing, laughter, and support, it felt like a safe space to simply be ourselves. Deirdre and Fran created a magical atmosphere, inspiring, joyful, and incredibly nurturing. Their energy set the tone for everything. And I can't say enough about the staff at the Riad, their care, kindness, and attention to every little detail made us feel so held and looked after.
It wasn't just a retreat, it was an experience of connection, beauty, and presence that will stay with me for a long time.

I was pleasantly surprised by so much on this trip, the company was wonderful, of course, but the weather exceeded all expectations, with gentle breezes that made painting outside so comfortable. The Atlantic Ocean, open sandy beaches, and glorious sunsets made each day feel magical. I discovered that I work best when I let go of rules and allow myself to be carefree, which brought a new sense of freedom to my art. Exploring the old streets, historic sites, and walking along the beach at sunset were real highlights. The Riad felt like the most luxurious home-from-home, full of beauty, space to swim, paint, write, or simply daydream. The food was exceptional and learning to make a Moroccan tagine has become a favourite at home. The Tiznit markets were a feast for the senses, with friendly, welcoming locals. I would recommend this trip 100%, an unforgettable experience.

I’d been looking for years to go on an artist retreat….France, Italy, England. Someone told me to really consider the artist before you book, because it really matters. I’d been following Fran for several years and when she posted that she was going to do an artist retreat in Morocco I immediately booked. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. The week was magical. They delivered on every aspect of retreat from the culture, the accommodation, the food, activities and personal artistic growth and support. This retreat isn’t just for artists. It’s an opportunity to be creative in a safe environment and learn to let go of preconceived notions about what art is. If you want to learn, laugh, be creative then I’d highly recommend doing this retreat. ………Ps. Plan to go back next year.

I strongly feel that every woman needs to take time out to indulge in themselves. This week enables you to do exactly this. You do not have to be an artist, the art is pure play and experimental. The group is warm, supportive and so much fun. Fran and Deirdre are professional, creative and great fun. The Riad is beyond your expectations and Aby and his staff are a huge part of this experience, Abby clearly wants every single guest to have the best experience and this is exactly what I had. This is why I came back a second time.

I took the plunge. Had the experience of a lifetime, and booked the next retreat at the airport before coming home. Fran and Deirdre have created the most magical week of fun, friendship and gentle adventure. New to art they make everything playful and their lavish materials mean you can try it all out. This amazing group of women bonded firmly within the exquisite surroundings of the Riad. Aby and the team spoiled us rotten, forget any diet as you won’t want to resist any of this fresh, delicious array of feasts! The markets, the ocean, the desert and oasis, a week not to be missed.

I loved the first Moroccan art retreat so much that I booked again—and it was just as magical. Fran and Deirdre create a nurturing, joyful space where everyone feels relaxed, connected, and free to be themselves. Riad Janoub is beautiful, the food is incredible, and Abi and his team are so welcoming. Exploring the desert, oasis, fishing village and markets was unforgettable, and the quiet moments, moonlit evenings, sunrise yoga, and early swims in the Atlantic were pure bliss. Creating art alongside other women, experimenting with new techniques, and soaking up the colours and culture left me buzzing with ideas. I would go back in a heartbeat.

This was a deeply nourishing escape. From the moment I committed, everything flowed effortlessly. A full week devoted to creativity, rest, and self-care felt dreamlike. The beautiful riad, incredible food, warm hospitality, and shared meals created memories I’ll treasure for years. The daily workshops were joyful, playful, and perfectly organised. With every material provided, music playing, sunlight pouring in, and the gentle rhythm of Morocco all around, creating in a supportive group felt inspiring, freeing, and truly magical. This retreat was more than art; it was a spiritual reset. Meditation, meaningful connections, quiet moments, and breathtaking sunsets left me feeling renewed, inspired, and deeply at ease with myself. I couldn’t recommend it more.

I threw caution to the wind and booked the week, and it was truly an experience of a lifetime. Fun adventures, creative art sessions, and laughter with an amazing group of women made it unforgettable. The Riad exceeded all expectations, beautiful, calm, and perfectly cared for by Aby and his team, who shared their culture with passion. From exploring the souks, markets, and ocean to relaxing by the pool or enjoying quiet reflection, every moment was inspiring. I learned so much for my art and can’t wait to return next year. Fran and Deirdre created something truly special!

“Just returned from an incredible week in Tiznit, Morocco, surrounded by amazing, creative women. Huge thanks to Fran and Deirdre for creating such a magical, shared experience at the stunning Riad Janoub where we were treated like royalty. Each day was full of inspiration, painting, swimming, dancing, cooking, meditation, and even a trip to a desert oasis—always ending in laughter. Our cultural immersion was unforgettable, guided by the warm and knowledgeable Aby, who shared stories of Moroccan life and led us to vibrant souks and sunrise beach walks. A week of joy, creativity, connection, and wonder. I highly recommended for any woman seeking a truly enriching and memorable retreat.
